“We have been working in partnership with BADGER for some years. They provide out of hours medical cover for our Hospice patients. We have been very pleased with the standard of their service. They are flexible and always work with us to make sure our patients have the best access to safe and reliable care. We find their senior leaders to be approachable and helpful and we have regular and extremely productive two-way conversations about quality improvement. We would highly recommend them as an organisation to collaborate with.”

“People were truly respected and valued as individuals and were empowered as partners in their care, practically and emotionally, by an exceptional and unique service.”
The Care Quality Commission, 2024
Badger was established as a healthcare co-operative in 1996 by a group of local doctors in Birmingham and Solihull. We have a long history of providing Out-of-Hours care and Urgent Treatment Services to NHS patients.
Today, we continue to provide a reliable and consistent service, leading the way in developing phone consulting, drive-through care, and a virtual waiting room to improve patient experience.
Working in partnership with the NHS and other organisations, our not-for-profit status means we put people before profits.
We are delighted that of 93 Out-of-Hours providers across England, we are in the top 7 to have been awarded an ‘Outstanding’ rating.
Our vision is: ‘working in partnership to deliver care you can trust.’
Our SERQ (Safety, Efficiency, Respect, Quality) values are our engine of excellence. They are the beliefs and principles that drive us, helping all our staff to be effective, efficient and contribute to providing quality service:
We believe in safety for all.
We eliminate waste and delay for the benefit of our patients.
We respect diversity in all its forms and treat everyone fairly.
We deliver high quality services, where everyone is a quality controller.
